Magnetic Just a Note Project from Stamp Camp

This is one of the fun things we made at my stamp camp on Friday. It's made with a magnetic picture sleeve and the Crop-A-Dile goes through it like butter to form the little ribbon pen holder. This handy tool has been one of the favorite items people have gotten half price during TAC's Celebration, which ends Wednesday.

The extra large eyelet comes in the Miss Moxie Collection Hardware and we colored the images from our Friendly Note set with Chalk Pencils. There are so many ways to use these pencils and they even come with a sharpener and a sponge applicator for a soft and subtle look. The write on/wipe off pens came from Target and the variety of colors matched perfectly with the Frutti Fusion paper. What a fun gift for a mom, teacher or anyone you'd like to treat this month!

Heather's Simply Savvy Card Sketch

Well, it took me all of five minutes to do Heather's Monday Sketch! We've been working on a scrapbooking system together (Simply Savvy Schemes) and I used the pieces that come in the kit to make my card.

I used the Mulberry Meadow Soar With It collection, which is also what I'm featuring at my craft camp this weekend.

Supplies (The Angel Company):
Mulberry Meadow Soar With It Collection papers and cardstock

Simple Scrapbooking

Well, I'm having the best time looking at pictures while working on my scrapbooks. There's nothing better than happy memories. I've been getting my photos organized and am committed to having fun with my scrapbooking. To that end, I've been sharing ideas with some friends and we have come up with an inspiring way to keep it simple and have fun with our photos. It's called Simply Savvy Schemes and it's a system, complete with samples and sketches that allow you to turn your piles of pictures into a finished album fast. Email me or leave me a comment if you'd like to get a kit and get started!

Mini File Tab Punch- Any Length You Like

Well, I've always loved Heather's trick to make a tab with a tag punch, and there's the clever use of the Stampin' Up slot punch to make rounded word strips, but it did not occur to me until today . . . .

. . .to insert just one end of a strip of paper into the McGill Mini File Tab Punch to make longer or shorter tabs!

The width of the strip should be 1 1/2 inches and the length is totally up to you! Yay!

******ETA: To see a project using this handy punch, check out my Miss Moxie Composition Book ********

P.S. You knew I just would not be able to resist adding ribbon to my egg hunt book, right?

Quick Mini Scrapbook

This is one of the fastest mini books I've made yet! It's the same construction as the Love book I made recently, so see my skewer book post for instructions. This one is portrait instead of landscape and measures 4.5x6.5 (inside pages are 4.25x6.25).

Some of the photos inside are collages made using Shutterfly Studio Software, so I was able to add lots of smiles in a little space.

I made this little book for my friend's birthday and she already had the Bella Flor Photo Box to match!
If you're a fellow fan of my beloved Bella Flor paper, be on the lookout for an upcoming bargain basement deal on this discontinued paper . . .

Now, help me decide. Leave me a comment and vote whether I should leave it sweet and simple along the binding or add ribbons . . . .

Hitting the Books (Scrapbooks, of Course)

I'm determined to get some scrapbooking done this week. I'm actually making progress, too. I'm incorporating some new ideas, like using sketches to help me get a system down. I'm also having fun with some of my new stamps. I really like the Just a Note set (a current hostess set from The Angel Company.) I need those little lines, or my writing goes crooked!
Two tricks I used on this page include a new favorite: making faux notebook paper with my Zutter Bind-it-All and an old favorite from Heather Scott: make your own photo corners. I just love easy little accents that make a big impact on your page!

Supplies: Cha Cha Soar With It papers, cardstocks, hardware and ribbons

Stamps: Just a Note, Alpha Grunge, Family is Forever, Mini-Bet

Inks: Palette Noir, L'Amore Red, Charcoal

Scrapper's Emergency Tool Kit

I'm getting together with some friends to crop next week, so I decided to make some little treats for them. You're always forgetting something when you gather your scrapbooking supplies, so one of these goodies could come in handy. They are stamped with my info as well, so if they need any other supplies later, they can call me!

There's a mechanical pencil with Frutti Fusion paper inside, one of Allison's faux bone folders, an emery board for distressing those edges, and a piercing kit for when you need to place a brad (That's a medium sized push pin and a piece of fun foam). I also wanted to include some plastic canvas for piercing or stitching in patterns, so I'll have to grab some at the craft store this week! Hopefully I'll make some progress with my pages this week. Wish me luck!

Miss Moxie Composition Book with Clever Closure

I finally finished my journal from the Winter Angel Roundup! It's a composition book cut in half, so it's a really handy size and as you can see, I'm still lovin' the Miss Moxie Paper from TAC!

I cut off the edge of the inside pages to create a place for tabs. (LOVE my Mini File Tab punch!) This is where I'll organize creative ideas, scrapbook layouts, etc. Maybe now that my notebook is all dolled up with ribbons, I'll get organized! Ha!

I also came up with a neat closure with a hair band, which creates a little pen holder and holds the book closed. (See the photos below for a little more detail.) The coordinated Miss Moxie Hardware and Ribbons made this really fun to put together. Photo Turns are here, loops are here, and they come in cool colors here! (The loop is the little thingy I used to make my ribbon bookmark.)

The trick for the closure is to cut one large hole and two small holes in the back cover, creating a place for the hair band to loop around the extra large eyelet to hold fast to the back cover, while coming inside the book to make the pen holder. It then weaves back to the back cover so that it can wrap around and catch a large brad, mounted on the front cover. Hopefully the pictures will explain. (Click the photo to make it bigger) and feel free to leave a comment if you have a question. Enjoy!
